Casa Paloma
Objective
In small apartments, custom carpentry plays a leading role to make a space practical and functional. Yeye Studio had this in mind for the redesign of Casa Paloma, building in clever shelves, storage, and space-creating carpentry that fill it with light and maximise functionality.
The clients also requested interesting textures and sustainability in the design. The outcome shows how living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms can get a sparkling yet earth-conscious makeover when implementing recycled materials like Polygood®.
Approach
With our Spanish distributor Revolución Limo, designers used our White Lollipop pattern for several elements:
A kitchen countertop and backsplash that will provide years of hassle-free meal preparation, with colourful specks that bring out the joy of cooking.
A pristine bathroom vanity that is waterproof and mouldproof, complementing canary yellow cabinets that include a unique space for the kitty’s private affairs.
A fabulous folding table with a double function — work table and radiator cover — makes the space more flexible and guarantees spaciousness when not in use.
Impact
White Lollipop is made from 100% recycled polystyrene, originating as robust refrigerators and single-use cutlery.
This project has repurposed a significant amount of existing plastic — 237 kg of recycled White Lollipop to be exact — the weight of half a grand piano.
